The all-electric zero-emission Nissan Leaf has been declared the 2011 World Car of the Year at the New York Auto Show on Friday. It’s the very first electric car to win the award since its birth in 2005.
The Nissan Leaf, the world’s first mass produced electric car was chosen from an initial entry of thirty-nine new vehicles from all over the world, which was then reduced to ten, then three finalists. The Leaf’s co-finalists include the Audi A8 and the BMW 5 Series.

I’ve read a report just yesterday regarding Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution’s death and it got me a little sad. As a Lancer enthusiast myself, I dream of having an Evo in my garage, 3 of them specifically (see picture above) and I don’t want it to end this way. Not until I have at least one of those three (cries…). The good news is, Mitsubishi will not yet stop the production of the current Evo but its successor’s future is dim since they are now focusing their efforts to environment friendly cars.
